Abstract

This study presents the design of a smart poultry robot aimed at enhancing the efficiency of poultry farming management and improving animal welfare. As the demand for poultry products grows, traditional breeding methods face challenges such as labor shortages and management difficulties. The robot integrates a range of advanced features, including chicken behavior recognition, floor egg collection, dead chicken detection and removal, breaking up the surface of the bedding, and health status inspection. It autonomously navigates and utilizes artificial intelligence technology to identify and mark abnormal chickens, as well as measure their weight. Compared to existing mobile robots, this prototype model is more adaptable and operates stably in the complex environments of poultry houses. Preliminary test results demonstrate that the robot effectively reduces manual labor, enhances management efficiency, and offers a user-friendly solution for agricultural practices.
