Robotics: Market Growth, Application Trends and Investment Analysis

Abstract

The paper discusses briefly the state of art of robotic applications and the degree of penetration of robots in various industrial sectors on a worldwide basis is forecast. A set of economic models is developed for investment appraisal. Parameters such as capital cost involved, productivity improvement, resulting savings and corporation tax aspects are included. The ranking of various applications as per capital investment required and the economic criteria of payback period and internal rate of return (yield) are presented.
