Abstract
The paper provides an overview of the various applications of rough set theory in dealing with uncertainty in modern robotic systems. Rough sets is a relatively young theory that has been gaining popularity in the field of artificial intelligence, and that has direct contribution for the advancement of robotics. This paper provides an introduction to robotics, explains the basics of rough set theory, discusses the various successful applications existing currently in the field of robotics systems, and suggests new areas of robotics that can benefit from rough set techniques.
