Abstract

We propose the use of Vygotsky theory into a Diagnostics Robotic Agent (DRA), to be used in the RoboEduc, a software environment for Educational Robotics. We recover some basics of Educational Robotics, explaining the main characteristics of the Roboeduc software. We make an overview of Vygotsky’s theory, and proposes the structure and design of the Diagnostics Robotic Agent using Vigotsky theory. Its interactions with the RoboEduc Software are shown and also with Human agents. Finally, we present result obtained in and application running by over the four last years in a public school, in which children, up to 10 years old, were able to program robots by following our paradigm. Results for these experiments give us feedback for introducing programming skills in robots, even to very young children, what demonstrates the theoretical approaches proposed here.
