Abstract
A generic model for a ring production chain with various manufacturing machines and a mobile robotic system is modelled as a finite deterministic automaton. The desired behavior of the plant is prescribed as a desired language. The properties of the desired language in relation to the plant's automaton are studied. To achieve the desired performance, a two layer supervisor has been designed. Thus the desired language has been divide into to two languages, one for each layer of the supervisor.
