Abstract
Assembly processes are currently facing a transformation: demands for productivity and flexibility are increasing, and customer requirements for product quality and variety are growing. The introduction of human-robot collaboration (HRC) in industrial workplaces can meet the increasing demand for customized solutions and improve assembly and manufacturing. Workplaces, where humans and robots work closely together at the same time and place, are becoming increasingly popular. Cobots are a suitable solution, especially for small and medium-sized companies that produce many product variants in small batches and therefore need flexible, mobile, and easily programmable devices. HRC has the potential to address current challenges such as aging workforces and shortage of skilled labor in Germany. In order to leverage the individual strengths of humans and robots and create hybrid teams that add value for all stakeholders, employee acceptance is crucial for the successful introduction of HRC in the company. This study investigates the relevant factors influencing the acceptance of human-robot collaboration among assembly workers in manufacturing through a systematic literature review.
