Abstract
Since the first successful open pancreaticoduodenectomy (OPD) that performed in 1935, several major landmarks have been achieved in the field such as the performance of the first laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy (LPD) 28 years ago and the first robotic pancreaticoduodenectomy (RPD) 19 years ago. Numerous studies have justified the efficacy and safety of RPD and its popularity has been increasing significantly in recent years. As an updated technique, robotic system is superior to laparoscope with both theoretical and technical advantages.
