Abstract
As robot joint motors and servo motors become lighter, continuously reducing their volume and mass becomes more challenging for heat dissipation. Motors with short periods of high overload capacity generate large amounts of instantaneous heat, making the temperature field of such motors a major concern. In this paper, we model a robot joint motor and obtain the loss distribution through electromagnetic analysis using the finite element method. We have also obtained steady-state temperature distribution for different operating conditions by numerical analysis of the temperature field using the finite element method. We verify the accuracy of the calculation results and the rationality of the solution method through comparison and analysis with experimental data. This model enables an accurate simulation of this type of motor and provides a reference for motor design and performance optimization and fault prediction.
