Abstract

We created an in vitro model using equine vessels. Pressures to 300mmHg were measured using a standard digital arterial line monitor. Pressures above 300mmHg were measured by a separate in-line gauge. lOmm NPL and !Omm Ti clips were applied to lOmm veins with and without a lmm cuff and tested until they held a pressure of 300 mmHg for 2 minutes or leaked. NPL and Ti clips were also applied to 10, 6 and 5 mm arteries with and without a lmm cuff and tested until they reached a pressure of 760 mmHg for 2 minutes or leaked.
