Abstract
High-power solid-state lasers took a quantum leap during the last few years regarding higher available laser powers, better beam quality, improved electrical efficiency and reductions in price. This enables a new, highly productive and economic welding technique called “Remote Welding”. This article focuses on the application benefits of remote welding based on scanner systems to guide the leaser beam to the work piece. This is the most dynamic and accurate way to realize such applications and smart production concepts.
