Image Guided Robotic Systems for Focal Ultrasound Based Surgical Applications

Abstract

Surgical resection remains the mainstay for conventional treatment of cancers/tumors. Normally, a margin area surrounding the cancer is removed to minimize relapse. However, due to the need for large access wounds for excising deep-seated abnormalities, traditional open surgery is associated with several operative and post-operative complications resulting
