Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery has had considerable impact on the management of localized prostate cancer. The role of robot assistance in laparoscopic renal surgery is less well defined, however. RECENT FINDINGS: There have been few recently published papers regarding the robotic approach to management of renal cancer. SUMMARY: Few clear benefits have been demonstrated for robotic-assisted over the conventional laparoscopic approach for the management of renal cancer.
