Abstract
Even though Industry 4.0 has entered another decade, this topic is still stirring interest, being implemented in more and more sectors of the economy. Therefore, it is not surprising that solutions based on Industry 4.0 are implemented in such a dynamic sector as pharmaceutics. But is it profitable and if yes, therefore to what extent? This brief paper tries to answer such question. The paper presents a conceptual model of transformation a traditional (classic) pharmaceutical factory into a smart one (with application of Industry 4.0 solutions). The proposed solutions allow to reduce production costs while increasing its efficiency thanks to robots, IoT solutions, sensors and RFID technology.
