Abstract
This paper addresses the problem of loading pallets with multiple size boxes. It focuses on the physical aspects of using a robot to load multiple size boxes on pallets. The paper presents an algorithm that determines individual box placement on a multiple layer pallet, assuming that multiple box sizes is a limitation. This study was done using an algorithm and a robot sequence program. The program was run on an IBM RS-1 robot. The problems associated with robotic implementation are discussed in detail.
