Diffusion of Robotics in the Philippines: Impact of Policies, Laws, R & D, and Word of Mouth

Abstract
Robotics is one of the key emerging technologies laid in Industry 4.0. Currently, the Philippines is lagging with technological advancement compared to other ASEAN countries. Consequently, the areas with contributing factors in robotics' innovation advancement were revisited. The existing policies, laws, research publications, and public interest trends relating to robotics were used as input variables to estimate intelligent robots' innovation diffusion. The result shows an annual increase rate of all the input variables by 10% will obtain a 50% near to the peak diffusion curve at the time, <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$t$</tex> by the year 0.2t. Considering the four input parameters, the policy has the most significant contribution, while the public interest has the least significant contribution to accelerate innovation diffusion. With the disruptive impact of robotics diffusion, vital regulatory policies are introduced to prepare the country in the forthcoming decades.
