Abstract
Miniature injury surgery has been a major problem in the field of biomedical engineering. The medical endoscope is the typical medical instrument in accordance with the requirements of miniature injury surgery. This paper briefly describes the medical endoscope and considers the shortcomings of the traditional endoscope. Then, making use of the technology of micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), the paper presents a new type of endoscope system driven by the squirmy robot. Finally, problems and application trends are considered.
