摘要

With the rapid development of robotic technology, robots are playing an important role in diverse fields. In the field of antenna testing, it is becoming common practice to use robots for near- and far-field measurements. Normally, a standard speed is used for field scanning in near-field measurements, but the field scanning speed has an influence on the far-field generated by the near-field measurements. In this manuscript, we show the preliminary results discussing the effect of near-field scanning speed on the far-field calculations. Such a study becomes very important for larger antennas where the scanning takes a long time. The purpose of this study is to explore the possibility of setting a higher scanning speed and thereby reducing the test time while maintaining the high accuracy of far-field measurements.
