摘要
Although a large number of neural stimulators have been developed, there is still a lack of outdoor long-range neural stimulators. Based on distributed design, we have proposed a long-range neural stimulator for pigeon-robots. In the proposed stimulator, the receiving control terminal placed on the animal is divided into three parts, that is the signal generation module, the communication module and the positioning module, which are respectively installed on the animal's head and legs. ZigBee wireless communication is used among the three parts. The results of both the static test, the test in vitro and vivo have shown it is highly effective for remotely modulating a neural circuit and its corresponding behavior in an untethered, freely behaving animal.
