Design and Implementation of Secure Ground Control Station and Communication Architecture in UAV Embedded System

In recent decades, robots have become popular in different applications. Furthermore, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been used in the military and business. The UAV reduces transaction costs and promotes safety significantly. Researchers have addressed the secure control and communication protocol between software, firmware, and hardware. In the study, three parts, including the hardware architecture, software ground control station (GCS), and firmware tasks were designed in the UAV embedded system. The three parts are connected by a communication protocol called enhanced MAVLink protocol (EMP). Various sensors were designed and implemented in the peripheral devices of the UAV. In addition, the large-scale UAV system architecture was created. Based on the results of the experiment, the effectiveness and efficiency of the UAV for outdoor activities were evaluated. Eventually, the proposed UAV architecture proved to be efficient and robust in practice.
