摘要

With the advent of Industry 5.0, new aspects have been coined apart from smart automation and data exchange in Industry 4.0, that entails to maintain societal norms, i.e., sustainability, well-being, and resilience. Developing and deploying solutions that transform existing industries into smart factories requires to employ autonomous robots and digital tools. Besides improving the quality and quantity of the end product produced, it also curtails the cost and time of commercialization at mass customization, especially in the case of agile manufacturing. However, it raises safety and ethical concerns for the workers who are on the verge of direct contact with such emerging technologies. Therefore, designing and developing human-centric adaptive and intelligent solutions that fulfill the needs of manufacturers (i.e., return on investment) and customers (i.e., customized and cost-efficient) is quite challenging. This chapter discusses the realization of Industry 5.0 in agile manufacturing and highlights its practical obligations for socio-intelligent automation using the ACROBA platform.
