摘要
The paper proposes a simulation of a Brain-Computer Interface system, which is based on a 3D model of a robotic hand. It has been developed in the LabVIEW graphical programming environment and controlled by eye-blinks strength detected across the electroencephalographic signal acquired from the NeuroSky Mindwave Mobile (second edition) headset. This application is aimed for people diagnosed with severe neuromotor diseases. They cannot move their upper and/or lower limbs naturally (by involving muscles and peripheral nerves) or they have lost the ability to talk by spoken words. Therefore, these persons need special assistance in doing their daily activities. A solution for helping them could be the development of a Brain-Computer Interface system. The application proposed in this paper facilitates the experimentation, testing, and simulation of the working principle underlying such a system. These preliminary processes are necessary in order to increase the trust of the users and show them how to use the system.
