Yoshua Bengio is one of the world's foremost pioneers in deep learning and artificial intelligence, whose foundational contributions have reshaped modern machine learning. A professor at the Université de Montréal and scientific director of Mila – Quebec AI Institute, Bengio has dedicated his career to understanding the principles underlying neural networks, representation learning, and generative models. His work spans probabilistic models, natural language processing, recurrent neural networks, and attention mechanisms — research threads that collectively laid the groundwork for today's large language models and generative AI systems.
