About
Yamin Wang is a pioneering urologic surgeon whose research focuses on advancing minimally invasive techniques for complex renal surgeries, particularly robotic-assisted partial nephrectomy. His most significant contribution is the development and validation of sequential clamping of segmental renal arteries during robotic partial nephrectomy for patients with multiple ipsilateral renal tumors—a technically demanding procedure that preserves maximal renal function while achieving complete tumor resection. In his landmark 2019 study, Wang demonstrated the feasibility of this approach in eleven consecutive cases, showing that selective arterial clamping can reduce ischemic injury to healthy kidney tissue compared to traditional main artery clamping.
