About

Xuewei Zhu is a leading investigator in macrophage biology and lipid metabolism, with a particular focus on the molecular mechanisms that govern innate immune signaling. Her work has fundamentally advanced our understanding of how cholesterol homeostasis and membrane microdomain organization regulate Toll-like receptor (TLR) function. In her highly cited 2015 study, Zhu employed a proteomic analysis of ABCA1-null macrophages to identify Stomatin-like protein-2 (SLP-2) as a critical regulator of lipid raft composition and TLR signaling.
