Dr. Virginia Vargiu is a leading gynecologic surgeon whose research focuses on advancing minimally invasive techniques for endometriosis and gynecologic cancers. Her landmark 2020 case-control study (46 citations) pioneered the use of real-time near-infrared imaging with indocyanine green during robotic surgery, dramatically improving the detection of hidden endometriosis implants that conventional two-dimensional cameras miss.
