Tae‐Kyu Jang is a gynecologic surgeon and clinical researcher whose work centers on minimally invasive surgical techniques for gynecologic cancers, with a particular focus on robotic single-site surgery for endometrial and cervical cancer. Over the past several years, Jang has been instrumental in pioneering and refining the robotic single-site approach at his institution, producing some of the earliest published guidelines for its application in staging operations for early-stage endometrial cancer — work that has since garnered 21 citations and helped establish a foundation for broader adoption of the technique. His comparative research has been especially valuable to the field. By directly analyzing robotic single-site radical hysterectomy against conventional multiport approaches across 62 cervical cancer cases, Jang provided clinicians with critical data on surgical outcomes and cost considerations. His 5-year longitudinal experience with robotic single-site radical hysterectomy further strengthened the evidence base for its oncologic safety. Most recently, his 421-patient retrospective study examining long-term survival outcomes in endometrial cancer helped establish the non-inferiority of single-site surgery compared to multiport laparoscopy. Together, his contributions represent a systematic effort to validate and advance single-incision robotic surgery as a safe, effective option for women with early gynecologic cancers.
