About
Dr. Soo Hyun Lim is a leading clinical researcher in urologic oncology, with a primary focus on patient-reported outcomes and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) following prostate cancer treatment. Her most significant contribution is the development and rigorous validation of the Korean version of the Expanded Prostate Cancer Index Composite (EPIC), a globally recognized tool for assessing HRQoL in prostate cancer patients. This work, cited 33 times, addressed a critical gap by providing a unified, culturally adapted methodology to evaluate urinary, bowel, sexual, and hormonal domains after treatment. By enabling standardized, patient-centered assessments in Korean populations, Dr. Lim’s research has directly improved clinical decision-making and post-treatment care. Her efforts have facilitated cross-cultural comparisons and enhanced the global applicability of HRQoL measures. Through this foundational work, Dr. Lim has established herself as a key figure in urologic outcomes research, advancing the integration of patient perspectives into oncologic practice and ensuring that quality of life remains a central endpoint in prostate cancer management.
