About
Dr. S.A. Sohaib is a leading urologic oncologist whose research focuses on optimizing treatment for testicular cancer, particularly seminoma, through minimally invasive surgical techniques and reduced chemotherapy regimens. His most impactful work challenges traditional management of Stage IIa seminoma, which historically required multi-agent chemotherapy or radiotherapy with significant toxicity. In his landmark 2019 study, Dr. Sohaib pioneered the use of minimally invasive (robotic or laparoscopic) retroperitoneal lymph node dissection combined with a single dose of carboplatin, demonstrating that this approach can achieve excellent clinical outcomes while substantially reducing treatment burden. This work has garnered 10 citations and represents a paradigm shift toward de-escalation of therapy in testicular cancer. His contributions are especially valuable for young patients who face lifelong risks from conventional treatments. Dr. Sohaib’s research continues to refine the balance between oncologic efficacy and quality of life, establishing him as an innovator in urologic oncology and a key voice in the movement toward personalized, toxicity-sparing cancer care.
