Paul G. Stalboerger has made foundational contributions to cancer cytogenetics, with a particular focus on gynecologic malignancies and soft-tissue tumors. His landmark 1993 study, "Cytogenetic studies of epithelial ovarian carcinoma," which has accumulated 78 citations, provided some of the earliest systematic chromosomal analyses of this aggressive cancer, helping to identify recurrent genetic aberrations that underpin tumorigenesis and progression. This work has been instrumental in guiding subsequent molecular and genomic investigations into ovarian cancer.
