About

Dr. P. Croce is a pioneering surgeon whose work has advanced the application of robotic technology in gynecologic oncology, with a particular focus on the treatment of deep infiltrating endometriosis and endometrial cancer. In a landmark 2015 study, Dr. Croce demonstrated the feasibility and safety of a robotic shaving technique for 25 patients with deep infiltrating endometriosis of the rectovaginal space, a procedure that offers a less invasive alternative to radical bowel resection. This work, cited 20 times, has helped establish a nerve-sparing, organ-preserving approach for this debilitating condition. Building on this expertise, Dr. Croce also evaluated robotic-assisted laparoscopy for endometrial cancer, performing simple and radical hysterectomies on 51 patients with a mean follow-up of four years. This 2015 study, with 11 citations, provided crucial long-term data confirming the oncologic safety and low complication rates of the robotic approach. By meticulously documenting outcomes and refining surgical techniques, Dr. Croce has contributed to the growing body of evidence supporting robotic surgery as a standard of care in complex gynecologic oncology, improving recovery and quality of life for patients.
