Mosope Soda is a rising voice in surgical innovation, with research that bridges the gap between cost-effectiveness and cutting-edge technology. Her work centers on two pivotal areas: minimally invasive colorectal surgery and robotic-assisted spinal fusion. In her most-cited study, “Is newer always better?,” Soda challenges the assumption that robotic right hemicolectomy is superior to laparoscopic approaches, providing a rigorous cost and short-term outcome comparison that has garnered 12 citations and sparked important debate in surgical practice. More recently, she has pioneered the integration of intraoperative 3D CT imaging (E3D) with robotic navigation in posterior spinal fusion.
