Dr. Martial Ouendo is a pioneering neurosurgeon whose research focuses on advancing stereotactic and functional neurosurgery for movement disorders, particularly Parkinson’s disease and complex tremors. His most influential work, “Asleep Robot-Assisted Surgery for the Implantation of Subthalamic Electrodes Provides the Same Clinical Improvement and Therapeutic Window as Awake Surgery” (2017, 43 citations), demonstrated that robot-assisted deep brain stimulation (DBS) performed under general anesthesia achieves equivalent clinical outcomes to traditional awake surgery.
