Marc Feldmann is a pioneering immunologist whose research has fundamentally reshaped our understanding and treatment of autoimmune diseases. His key contributions lie in cytokine biology and the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Feldmann’s landmark discovery, alongside Sir Ravinder Maini, was that tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) acts as a master regulator in the inflammatory cascade of RA.
