About
Lotta Purkamo is a geomicrobiologist whose research bridges Earth’s extreme environments and the search for life beyond our planet. Her work centers on understanding how microbial communities survive and thrive in volcanic and hydrothermal systems, with a particular focus on Mars-analogue environments.
