About
Lianchun Song is a leading environmental scientist whose research focuses on the biogeochemical coupling between atmospheric dust, oceanic iron cycles, and marine ecosystem productivity. In a seminal 2011 study, Song established a critical linkage between Asian dust storms, the deposition of dissolved iron into the deep ocean, and the subsequent stimulation of marine export production—a process that influences global carbon sequestration.
