About
Dr. Keith A. Seifert is a leading mycologist whose career has been defined by pioneering work in fungal taxonomy, phylogenetics, and DNA barcoding. His research focuses on the systematics of *Penicillium* and other food- and indoor-associated molds, as well as the development of molecular tools for fungal identification. A major contribution is the creation of a high-density *COX1* barcode oligonucleotide array for the rapid identification of *Penicillium* subgenus *Penicillium* species—a breakthrough that analyzed 358 sequences to distinguish 58 known and two new species.
