About
Dr. Kazumitsu Suzuki is a pioneering robotic surgeon whose work is reshaping the landscape of gastric and esophageal cancer surgery. His primary research focuses on the clinical application and refinement of advanced robotic platforms, including the novel hinotori™ and da Vinci™ SP single-port systems, to perform minimally invasive gastrectomy and esophagectomy. Dr. Suzuki’s major contributions lie in establishing the feasibility and safety of these cutting-edge technologies, as evidenced by his first clinical experiences with the hinotori™ system (27 citations) and the da Vinci™ SP system. He has also made significant strides in reducing postoperative complications, notably by standardizing procedures to prevent late intestinal issues after total gastrectomy and by investigating the incidence of post-surgical diarrhea in a large cohort of 1,476 patients.
