About

Jinhuan Qiu is a leading researcher in atmospheric optics and solar radiation measurement, with a career dedicated to improving the accuracy of Earth’s surface energy budget data. Her primary research areas include aerosol optical depth modeling and the calibration of solar radiation instruments. Qiu’s most significant contribution is the development of a novel, in-situ calibration method for shortwave solar irradiance measurements, which simultaneously calibrates global, direct, and scattering components against the World Radiation Reference (WRR). This work, published in 2014, has been foundational for ensuring data quality in climate monitoring.
