About
Jennifer Scalici is a leading gynecologic oncologist whose research has fundamentally shaped surgical standards for endometrial and cervical cancers. Her most impactful contribution is the landmark FIRES trial, a multicenter, prospective cohort study comparing sentinel lymph node biopsy to full lymphadenectomy for endometrial cancer staging. With over 900 citations, this work demonstrated that sentinel node mapping is a safe, effective alternative to radical lymph node dissection, reducing surgical morbidity while maintaining diagnostic accuracy—a finding that has been widely adopted into clinical guidelines.
