Iain C. Macaulay is a leading figure in single-cell genomics, whose work has fundamentally advanced our ability to dissect the molecular complexity of individual cells. His primary research focuses on developing and applying innovative methods to profile the genome and transcriptome simultaneously from the same cell. Macaulay’s most impactful contribution is the invention of G&T-seq (Genome and Transcriptome sequencing), a groundbreaking technique that enables the parallel sequencing of DNA and RNA from a single cell.
