About
Hideyuki Kamisawa is a pioneering Japanese pediatric urologist whose work has significantly advanced minimally invasive surgical treatments for children. His primary research focuses on robot-assisted laparoscopic techniques for complex congenital urological conditions, including vesicoureteral reflux (VUR), ureteropelvic junction obstruction, and ectopic ureters. Dr. Kamisawa’s major contribution is the introduction and refinement of the extravesical robot-assisted laparoscopic ureteral reimplantation using the ureteral advancement technique, first reported in Japan in 2014.
