About

Giulio Vallati is a pioneering surgeon at the forefront of fluorescence-guided robotic surgery, whose work has fundamentally advanced the fields of urologic oncology and minimally invasive thoracic surgery. His research centers on the innovative use of Indocyanine Green (ICG) and near-infrared fluorescence imaging to enhance surgical precision, particularly in complex, organ-sparing procedures. Vallati’s major contributions include developing the “Ride the Green Light” technique for off-clamp robotic partial nephrectomy in totally endophytic renal masses (76 citations), a landmark approach that allows surgeons to “see” invisible tumors, maximizing nephron preservation while minimizing ischemia.
