Frode Nilsen is a prominent urologic surgeon and researcher whose work centers on renal cancer, prostate cancer, and the evolution of minimal access surgery. He is a founding member of the Nordic Renal Cancer Group (NORENCA), a collaborative network uniting the five Nordic countries to standardize and improve renal tumor treatment. His landmark study, the NORENCA-I survey (2017), provided the first comprehensive snapshot of contemporary renal cancer management across 25 million people, revealing critical variations in surgical approaches and setting the stage for future Nordic trials.
