About

Edoardo Dibilio is a rising urological surgeon and researcher whose work is reshaping the treatment landscape for prostate cancer. His primary research areas focus on **focal therapy** and **robotic-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy (RALP)**, with a particular emphasis on optimizing oncological control while preserving patients’ quality of life. Dibilio’s major contributions include two landmark systematic reviews from 2023, which collectively garnered nearly 80 citations. The first systematically defined cancer control outcomes in focal therapy, while the second provided a comprehensive analysis of functional results and patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs)—offering the first consolidated evidence that focal approaches can achieve favorable continence and potency rates. His clinical expertise is further demonstrated in a 2023 study on urinary continence recovery after RALP, which analyzed a large contemporary cohort from a tertiary referral center, revealing that excellent short- and mid-term continence is achievable even without anterior or posterior reconstruction. Most recently, in 2025, Dibilio has explored the prognostic value of combining surgical margin extension with Gleason score, providing urologists with a more nuanced tool for postoperative risk stratification. Through these contributions, Dibilio is helping to define a new, patient-centered standard for prostate cancer surgery.
