Daniel Shell is a thoracic surgeon and researcher whose work centers on rare thoracic malignancies and minimally invasive surgical techniques. His most notable contribution is the first documented successful resection of multifocal primary intrapulmonary thymoma (PIT)—an exceptionally rare ectopic thymoma arising within the lung parenchyma—using robotic-assisted thoracoscopic surgery.
