Clement Akoshile is a leading atmospheric scientist whose research focuses on aerosol characterization, air quality, and precipitation variability in Africa. His most impactful work, the 2016 SPARTAN paper (191 citations), reveals how global chemical composition of PM2.5 varies across urban and rural sites, establishing a critical baseline for understanding particulate matter sources and health impacts worldwide. Akoshile’s contributions extend to pioneering aerosol classification using AERONET spectral absorption data (2022), enabling more accurate identification of dust, biomass burning, and urban aerosols across African locations. He has also advanced satellite validation by comparing MODIS and NAAPS aerosol optical depth with ground-based AERONET measurements over North Africa (2019).
