About

Bianjie Chen is a leading atmospheric scientist whose research focuses on aerosol–meteorology interactions, air quality modeling, and the dynamics of haze pollution in China. In a landmark study, Chen led a mesoscale modeling investigation of the severe haze episodes in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei (Jing–Jin–Ji) region, revealing how aerosols and planetary boundary layer (PBL) meteorology mutually reinforce each other to intensify pollution.
