About
Benedikt Wynands is a researcher at the forefront of microbial biotechnology and sustainable chemistry, with a focus on engineering bacteria for the circular bioeconomy. His work centers on enhancing microbial tolerance to toxic renewable platform chemicals, particularly 5-(hydroxymethyl)furfural (HMF), a key compound derived from biomass that can be converted into green plastics and other bio-based products.
