About
Ayushmita De is a rising voice in orthopaedic health equity, whose research rigorously exposes racial and ethnic disparities in joint replacement surgery. Her work focuses on how patient demographics influence both the use of modern implant technologies and the likelihood of revision procedures. In her landmark 2022 study, "Racial Disparities in Rates of Revision and use of Modern Features in Total Knee Arthroplasty," De analyzed a national registry to demonstrate that non-White patients undergo total knee arthroplasty at different rates and with less access to advanced implant features, correlating with higher revision risks.
