Aviral Chharia is a rising force at the intersection of neuroscience and accessible technology, whose work is redefining how we interact with machines using only the mind. His primary research focuses on non-invasive, EEG-based Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs), with a particular emphasis on P300 evoked potentials. In his landmark 2023 PRISMA-compliant systematic review—which has already garnered 20 citations—Chharia comprehensively mapped how visual stimuli-evoked P300 signals are transforming the BCI landscape, from assistive devices for patients with disabilities to applications in entertainment and robotics. This work has become a foundational reference for researchers seeking to harness P300 for real-world, non-medical uses. Demonstrating a commitment to democratizing this technology, Chharia recently introduced PyNoetic, a modular Python framework enabling no-code development of EEG BCIs.
